Male Long-tailed Duck

I remember well the first time Ron took me to see the Scarborough Bluffs. It was the August long-weekend in 1981 and I had been the Maid of Honour at a friend's wedding. The next day the Best Man and his girlfriend drove us to Bluffers Park at the base of Brimley Road. We walked along the shore and Ron told us what it was like to be raised in this area of Scarborough. The Bluffs stretch 14 kms east from Victoria Park Road along the shore of Lake Ontario in Toronto. Being made from clay the Bluffs are constantly eroding and changing their shape, often creating peaks that resemble church steeples. A few years after my first visit we would buy a home in the area. We've been there ever since. It's a wonderful neighbourhood with lots of parks and many opportunities for taking photographs of interesting landscapes and wildlife such as ducks, warblers, deer, and especially raccoons.
