American Pika

Whenever we are in mountains in western Canada we are always on the lookout for a Pika. It's a small rodent with round ears and no tail, that is sometimes called a Whistling or Piping Hare. They are shy though so we are often looking in vain. On this day we not only spotted some but Ron was rewarded with pictures when he got out of the car and sat patiently waiting at the side of the road. I stayed in the van pulled off on the other side of the road and watched through binoculars as they popped out of holes in the rock to check Ron out.
