When I'm really into the moment, time suspends. I have no sense of it. I was working a group of Woodland Caribou and photographed this youngster from the van. Then I got out and walked into the woods with the herd for a while. When I got back to the van Lori was reading a book. "How long was I gone?" I asked surprised she was reading.

"Over an hour" she smiled. I had no idea. Walking with wildlife like this is one the joys of my life. Having a partner who gets it makes it all the sweeter.
