Raccoon in Tree Cavity

Our neighbour had a monstrous Silver Maple Tree that bordered our lot. There was a sizable hole in it that a family of raccoons took advantage of. To get this photograph I stood on a step ladder and used an 8 foot tall tripod to get up to eye level. The neighbour had the tree cut down this spring. I will miss the shade but will sleep better knowing it will not crash through our roof in the storms to come.
