Alexandra Falls, NWT

With water the colour of tea, the Hay River tumbles over Alexandra Falls. We camped at the Twin Falls Gorge Territorial Park, Northwest Territories over night. I remember Lori being upset with me getting too close to the cliff edge. Lori is the worrier in the family. She had visions of me slipping and being swept down stream. "I don't want to drive home alone!" she said.

"What, you would just get in the van and leave me in the water?" I asked.

She just shook her head and said, "Move back from the edge!"

Ok fine, spoil all my fun. Worrier…

The Waterfall route in the North West Territories is worth checking out. I would recommend late summer early fall and give the bugs a chance to run their course.
