Sharp-tailed Grouse

I don't work in a blind very often. I get impatient and uncomfortable. You sometimes need to stay in a blind for hours. In this case it was worth it. The sharp-tailed grouse is not common in Ontario. This bird of the prairies is much more abundant in Saskatchewan. I photographed this grouse in it's matting ritual on Barrie Island on Manitoulin Island. We got to the blind before daylight and waited for the light and the birds to dance.
