Trumpeter Swan

Most of the swans we see in Ontario are Mute Swans, which were introduced from Europe many years ago. But the swan in this image is a Trumpeter - a native species. Many people have worked very hard to bring the Trumpeter population back to a more healthy level around the Great Lakes. This bird was photographed at Bluffers Park in Scarborough.
