p108-100716D6354 Salt River, Wood Buffalo National Park
This image of the Salt River in Wood Buffalo National Park shows its distinctive limestone and gypsum cliffs. Middle of the day light is rarely flattering to the landscape. I shot this image around 2 p.m. using a 2-stop neutral density filter to hold back the exposure of the clouds. This keeps the highlights from becoming overexposed. Later when I processed the image with Photoshop, I adjusted the contrast and tone of the image further to add drama and interest.
